Flyball at Mapledurham

Had a great weekend doing Flyball at Mapledurham. The dogs coped brilliantly with the heat and were helped by having the river Thames right next to the rings so we could swim them straight after they had raced.

Monty's team had won 4 legs and in the last race we had to win the last leg to win the division. Monty runs last dog and as I sent him we were behind. Bless him, he ran his socks off and won the race by the smallest of margins (about 2 hundredths of a second.)

Skye's team came 4th.

Met the lovely Oenoke and her dogs as well. Her team also did well.

And........Monty is beginning to run back to me rather than running around the run back area after his run. The training is working!
 
Well done, sounds like an action packed weekend. I used to do flyball with my cross breed and Greyhound with the Hampshire Harriers but had to give up due to the Greyhound being injured and the cross breed getting on a bit lol

I do miss it sometimes :D

Was really good to meet you and your dogs. My Skye's team came 4th on Saturday, Skye also enjoyed jumping in the river, I took quite a few pics of this and will post them in a seperate thread, 1 of our team was taking pics of our team dogs and I'll post some of Skye when she forwards them on.
