~Ok, so took Fly to fun ride at Hartland in Devon today. Was a bit apprehensive to be honest but hey, had to be done. He started off with a massive vertical rear, and stayed in the air perfectly balanced (thank god) for longer than was decent. Pushed him forward into strong canter and did 2 x 3ft jumps which actually gave him something to think about. Have to say that he had "issues" all the way round but inbetween did chil a little. Don't think Fun rides are his "thing", far to exciteable. Also, 3 hrs, far too long for me, I was getting so bored by the end. Well, we got home ok, next test is a local show. fingers crossed. By the way, thanks to everyone's kindness re Merlin (pts last week). Much appreciated. xxxxxx

It is a shame it did not work out..these things do take a bit of time and he would probably settle after a couple more rides. My horse was very excited and strong on his first pleasure ride but soon settled and enjoyed himself with experience. Oh well...hope the show is better for you.
