Hello everyone,

This evening while my mare was happily grazing away she got a really nasty wasp sting, she was galloping around the paddock bucking to try to get the wasp off - it was very distressing for her and me to see her like it! :( Even after she was kicking out and bucking on the spot :( She wears a fly rug throughout summer and a fly mask during the day, I fly spray her 6am in the morning, before and after she is ridden (about 7pm) as I work 7:30 - 5 - is there any other management steps or even supplements I can do/give her? Unfortunately bringing her in during the day isn’t an option as she lives our 24/7 and I don’t have a stable but she does have a field shelter!

Any suggestions would be great!

There is a hornets nest near my horse's paddock. I'm spraying his rug with a peppermint oil solution as they apparently don't like the smell. i wouldn't use it on his skin, just on the rug.
