So its more than doubled in price how much do you pay??
Sorry bit pointless post but i am abit miffed!!

I buy NAF Pink Fly spray. I stock up in the winter though in anticipation of the next summer! It's normally £ 10 ish but I have paid between £ 5 - £7 and now have 5 bottles in stock!

Make your own - there are various lotions and potions in the stable yard area. Mine works out about £4 a litre, but I put a lot into it for sweet itch - avon and essential oils.

I think if you feed them onion/garlic stuff it helps produce some natural fly repellent through their skin (I've even heard this said of Marmite, which Brandy LOVES, so she gets lots of that) but I used to make my own with cold tea, lemon juice, baby oil (? I think?) and whatnot. You have to shake it up like billyo when you come to use it as it all settles but whack it in a spray bottle and off you go. Also, more environmentally friendly too, and you smell zesty fresh for the rest of the day

Ditto Kate1 we make our own and its for a couple of quid and it works we have stacks of midges where we live. receipe is;
Citronella(from chemists), methalated spirits, vinegar, cold tea, fairy liquid. I know it sounds horrendous but it works and this is the 3rd summer we have made it. put it in a spray bottle you need to shake it well b4 you use it as over night it seperates (dont know why) When i first got told the ingredents i thought it would blister the skin but our horse is a chestnut TB with a very fine coat and he is fine with it.
