I have a mare that is supposedly in foal this is day 328. She was ultrasounded at 70 days with a healthy fetus. In April she showed signs of heat and my mini Jack mounted her. I had my vet out last Friday.. she said her tract is too long she couldn’t feel anything via palpating and same thing when she got her ultrasound out. My vet is calling her “in foal” due to her low belly and she’s starting bag up. Just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience and did in fact get a foal!? So frustrating!

Some mares will demonstrate oestress behavior whilst in foal so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. If she is bagging up then she is most likely in foal (is she a maiden?)

I guess I’m just more concerned or confused that my vet couldn’t palpate or see on ultrasound at this stage. I was told when I bought her that she had one foal before.

You won’t always see it on ultrasound as drops too low. It can be possible to palpate but not always, it actually gets harder as pregnancy goes along

This, it kind of drops over a ledge almost and they cant reach to feel or ultrasound. Have you seen any movement?

Yes although not huge movement and not consistent if that makes sense. I tried to attach a pic but my files are too large to upload
If you have FB messenger send yourself the pictures, then save then and add these saved pictures to your post 🙂 FB messenger saving reduces the size of the file.
