It has given Salty a job to do, which she seems to have taken to rather well, she was so lucky she ended up with you as by now she could have been passed from pillar to post and ended up anywhere, she has rewarded you with a horse for you to really enjoy in the future even if you have many sleepless nights ahead:rolleyes:
Yes, well she had already been from a few pillars to posts by the time I got her, I'll never know what happened to her fully but she's a very dear mare and I'm glad we swept her up to join the gang ?

What a little poppet, she is very cute. Salty looks really well, she's clearly happy to be a mum!

Aww MP lovely photos, she looks super and Salty has obviously taken right away to being a fabulous mum ... I am much like you at the moment, so relieved foal is here safely, now have taken to worrying each day about "what if" but i guess that is part of the process.
i turned up to check on mine yesterday morning and he had obviously been climbing though some fallen tree branches on edge of the field and had several grazes up inside of his back legs. queue panic mode for me, but actually, a quick check and spray with antiseptic and its just surface stuff, i guess he is going to get into scrapes, just have to mitigate as best we can and accept it.

How lovely for you all, definitely think you made the right choice there ?? Salty looks very proud, is it her first foal? Look forward to updates ? congratulations ?

thank you, yes it's her first :) she's a natural ;)

Lovely foal and a very nice type of mare. The sort of mare that is well worth breeding from. Love the expression on her face, so proud of her baby.

that's very kind of you to say. she's an utter sweetheart so I'm excited to see how this little one develops because I wouldn't mind doing this again :p I can't afford to buy the type of horses I really want but I'm hoping that I can breed one ;)

How beautiful. And what fun to have a lovely, long-term project!!
Yes! and this time one that is all mine rather than figuring out what other people have done to them first!

scary being a new step mum isn't it! the grass was slippery this morning and she didn't realise, so went barreling down the field and slipped into a heap when she couldn't stop o_O all OK though, I had to put them back in after 90 mins so she would have a rest :D will have another go later.
