Having reached the half-way mark, time to show you my babies!

First to foal was Cleo (RID mare) - filly foal by my stallion Lady's Tralee Raj - named Indigo Clementine! She's rather bigger now!

Then it was Surprise's turn - a colt by Raj - called Indigo Future Shock (Alvin for short!) He MIGHT stay bay but I'm not puttingany money on it!

The next to foal was a maiden mare, Trio - and sadly, the foal was lost at birth - she was just TOO big.

Next was my AID mare Ripple (by Raj) - who had a coltby Avanti Amorous Archie - named Indigo Galaxy. This one WILL stay bay (I think!)

And ANOTHER colt, by Archie, out of Indigo Macha Pride - this chap is called Mr. Darcy!:D Goodness knows what colour HE'LL end up - but he's VERY pretty!

I needed an end to all these colts, and Shanacloon Rose obliged with a lovely filly - by Raj - named Indigo Canda Rose.

As of course did my wonderful Maggie - with a stunning filly last night. By Avanti Amorous Archie, this one is called Sweet Caroline!

I now have a couple of weeks' sleep until the next lot are due!

Lovely foals, congratulations, are you a breeder (sell on), what breed are they all?

Oh yes - FAR too many to keep sadly (although my husband says I have an inbuilt aversion to selling horses )

All of these are pure Irish Draughts (other than Ripple who is 3/4 ID/1/4TB - and her colt is 7/8ths!) I've got 3 sport horse mares still to foal and another 4 RID mares. Should be finished by mid-July with any luck!

JG - its so lovely to see proper foals! My Piper (3/4 tb 1/4 ID) looks huge compared to all the dainty pretty tbs and warmbloods I keep seeing. I now am much happier about his size having seen your stunning collection.

Are all your broodmares grey? If your in need off 1 more mare I have a stunning dark dapple grey 10 yr old sports horse in need off a loving home.she has a good cv off eventing behind her but now has a few issues under saddle so would make a lovely mummy.

They are absolutely lovely JanetGeorge. I was interested to read what you thought their final colours might be but how on earth do you tell? I've always wondered this!

No, they aren't ALL grey (just most of them!) And that includes the GLORIOUS RID mare who is coming on breeding loan next week which my husband doesn't know about - she should blend in! But NO more!!

I have two chestnut RID mares, and 2 bay, 1 chestnut sport horse mares - oops - not that's 2 chestnut sport horse mares,

I was interested to read what you thought their final colours might be but how on earth do you tell?

Well, ll Raj's foals have at LEAST a 50% chance of being grey, as do the Archie foals out of grey Mums (and all the mares who went to Archie to foal this year were grey!)

Usually, within a couple of days, the foals that are going grey will have little grey spectacles (which get bigger!)

The foals who are going to stay bay usually have seal-coloured legs, whereas the ones who are going to grey have black legs. But it's not an exact science!:D

Here are some I did earlier!

This one was pretty easy - she is now a yearling and VERY grey!

As is this one:

And this little chap??????

I wasn't sure of him for quite a long time - his Mum had a sense of humour and always liked to keep me guessing!

But this is him now!

Definitely bay!
