I have an 8 mth foal who has been very good to handle, no problems weaning, a gem really up to afew days ago. He has decided he does not want his headcollar on, he goes into a corner of the stable trying to stop you getting near and even rearing up. As this is totally out of character I don't want ot go in heavy handed as up to now gentle but firm has really worked with him, and he usually is quick and willing to learn. I am thinking it could be his teeth (as it seems to be just his head that he doesn't want touched) 1st molars are due around now. Has anyone else experienced this kind of behavior at this age and if so is there anything I can do to help him. He is due to get his bits done soon but I don't think its his hormones that is the problem at the moment. I will get the Vet to check him over if he doesn't get any better, but meanwhile any comments that may help will be appreciated.
P.S. lost spell checker so sorry for spelling.
