I am looking at buying a 6 month old foal - could anyone reccomend a vet in that area please, also not sure if should just have consultation check or a 2 stage, is it normal to have foals checked?
She is £1,500 and from private home, and seems in great health - very bold and def alert straight action, nice shoulders clean limbed no obvious issues
insurance are happy without
it was more my peace of mind, but if very little done unsure if waste of money.
I had Chancer 2 stage vetted. I bought him as a yearling. Even though so young, I wanted to make sure that his heart was ok and there was nothing obviously wrong as I am not an expert with joint growth etc.
He passed no problem and it was about £150. He cost £1,800. Had I later found out he had a birth defect or problem that could have been spotted, it would have caused me a lot of heart ache, hence the vetting.
Platt & Murrell cover Maldon - not cheap, but good.
