Hello

My yearling had warts (presumed juvenille warts) around her muzzle from about 3 months old. I did some research and the over-riding opinion is to leave them and they will fall off. Trouble is now they are around her eyes and actually on her eyelids. I really wouldn't dare to try any treatments myself due to the proximity to eyes and similarly I'm wary of getting the vet for fear that he suggests freezing off (which wouldn't be alot of fun for the yearling). Have any of you experienced similar? There really isn't a great deal on the internet. She is still suckling from mum so really suprised she isn't getting antibodies that way.

Be interested in any replies to this as my 7 month old has just, in the last week or so, got them come up around her muzzle and bottom lip, i've not touched them at all as when my son (who is now 14) was a toddler his back got covered in them, Doctor told me to leave them as they are a virus and will clear on their own, which they did.

They do look awful but they will just disappear on their own. Our mare had them for about 7 months as a yearling and then they just disappeared almost overnight.

Yes just leave them be.

My yearling had them ALL over his muzzle and even the vet said they were one of the worst cases he had seen :o

They took time but just popped off one by one to reveal a lovely kissable muzzle :D
