I have bought a lovely mare but she has lost a foal, is there anyone in northern ireland that maybe needs a surrogate (sorry spelt so wrong) mare.

My other mare had her foal and she bust the stable door to get out into the field to get the foal.

Sorry to hear about your mare, which one was it? The NI Horse Board have a Foster mare, orphan foal scheme.

Foster Mare /Orphan Foal Bank

We offer support to breeders 24/7 with our Foster Mare /Orphan Foal Bank via this website. This is a service open to all equine breeders throughout Ireland whether non-thoroughbred or thoroughbred, member or non-member, anyone loosing a mare or foal can access our website to find a mare or foal, or place a mare or orphan foal on our system, free of charge. We offer this service purely as a facilitator.

http://www.nihorseboard.org/viewFosterMares.php and the form is http://www.nihorseboard.org/submitFosterMare.php I hope this helps. Also get in touch with the local equine vet.

Im very sorry to hear this. Get onto the foaling bank ppl they are lovely and you will really help some poor wee thing. Just be prepared for some horrible things - we were told to keep the skin of our dead foal to put on the one we were fostering - YUCK!!!!

Ive only just got her, i was told she was a bit wild and i seen her as a project. Shes easily handled etc, can be rode bareback but she goes crazy the minute a saddle is placed on her!

She was in the stable when i let mae and her foal out for a run about, she went crazy, kicked the heavy door down and jumped into the area with mae and tried to get to the foal, of course mae was having none of it!

Now shes in a stable block quite a bit away from mae shes calmed down. Ones are telling me that they think shes lost a foal, shes for the vets tonight to see what the deal is.

Shes a beautiful girl and does want attention, but shes always looking for something
