Hi, I am new to this forum, but as I am so excited about the foals due this year, wanted to share.
I have Lux Z mare (dam of Zip Phin, graded stallion by Phin Phin and same dam line as Portofino) in foal to Berlin.
A Cabdula Du Tillard mare(same dam line as Quattro B) in foal to Quidam De Revel.
A Quito De Baussey mare in foal to Zip Phin and a Balou du Rouet mare(out of the Lux Z mare) in foal to Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve.
They should start arriving end of March, I would like to wish all of you awaiting foals good luck.

Hi WestonWarmbloods i,m UKWarmbloods and I have 2 I am looking forward to this year. One by Dimaggio (hannoverian) and one by a Rubinstein offspring, both basically dressage stallions. My mares are both more jumping bred, one is Argentinus line and the second one Landgraf1/Concorde (KWPN)so any advice re jumping stallions would be great. I was thinking Sir Shutterfly for the dutch mare?

Hi and welcome to the forum

How lucky are you to have a Berlin baby on the way! Some very nicely bred mares there. Would love to see pictures of the foalies when they arrive.

Hi, I have bred some dressage horses before, including two that I exported to Germany and you have some nice bloodlines. I have a 2 year old by Sir Shutterfly, out of my Westfalian mare by Goldlack. She had this foal at 25 years old and was a wonderful mum, she is a bit old fashioned and Sir Shutterfly has given the foal more quality. This filly also has a wonderful temperament, but the mum is a gem as well, so don't know if all Sir Shutterfly stock are nice. I will try to get some pictures.
Argentinus is one of my favourite stallions, of course he and Landgraff, Concorde can always benefit from more blood. I have some mares with Landgraff blood and they all have lovely temperaments.
I am a firm believer when breeding jumpers to add movement (by using either dressage stallions or jumping stallions with good movement) every third generation or so. I had a good friend in Germany, who bred over 100 foals a year, he proved how important this is. I don't think they have the same view in the KWPN, and always breed jumper to jumper, and their results speak for themselves.

Hi that makes my mind up as my Dutch mare Nadine is definately on the old fashioned slightly heavy side so Sir Shutterfly sounds a good mix. In fact both mares are big old fashioned types but I prefer that as so many stallions out there seem to be lighter and more 'breedy' nowadays and I wonder where all that important bone is going to come from. Would love to see you foals when they come along.

I have to say I agree with you, but maybe it is because I am old enough to remember when most of the mares available for breeding were either TB or heavier Irish or Cleveland Bay. Then we all used the Hunter Improvement TB stallions to introduce more blood or the other way for the TB mares. When the warmbloods started to be imported, to me they were ideal, middleweights with quality. But if you go to any of the studs abroad, they are always introducing more and more TB blood, makes you laugh really, when you think they are envious of our TB stallions. Of course we must not forget that Arab blood has also been used to bring quality to these old fashioned mares. I will post some pictures of the foals when they are born, I will also look for the Sir Shutterfly foal pictures. Good Luck.
