Has anyone ever fed fodder beet to their horses? We try to alleviate their boredom in the stable at night with the odd swede, but that works out quite expensive. Our farmer neighbours are getting 3 tonnes of fodder beet for their cattle, and are letting us try a bagful. I was thinking of using them the same way, ie one a day to chase round the stable. It is something like a cross between a mangold and a sugar beet, but with a low sugar content.

No I haven't fed them to my horses but I've known folks who do. They are fine to be fed to horses......I say go for it.

Thanks Tia! I was talking to someone the other day who didn't believe you were on the same latitude as Spain, so I checked the world map and I was right. I remember you saying that when you first moved. Still seems weird, we tend to think of Canada as a far north country, which some of it is... Anyway, that is good news about the beets, cheers.
