For those of you that remember my previous post and are interested in the outcome (lots of you were so kind and helpful).
I am SO EXCITED TO TELL YOU that after much heart-ache and many sleepless nights, I have seemingly had all my prayers answered in 1 way or another which means I can KEEP MY BOY!!
Whilst hacking out on Monday, I stumbled across a small yard & popped in with my riding friend, both knowing there is usually a waiting list & rarely a vacancy as it is very small & liveries are long termers and guess what? I AM IN!! (sadly due to a loss of someone's horse so I feel a bit guilty for being so happy). What is so special about this yard I hear you ask haha:
FIRSTLY: The horses (have the option to) live out 24/7 ALL YEAR ROUND thus saving me so much work physically, mucking out every day etc. I do have a stable though which will always be made up ready "just in case".
ALSO: The cost of the yard is HALF what I have been paying where I am (it doesnt have the full sized floodlit school but in the time I have been there I have only turned the floodlights on once and I rarely go in the school....). This yard has a makeshift sand-school.
AND: I can keep a trailer there!!!! So guess who is trailer hunting this weekend? I AM BESIDE MYSELF WITH EXCITEMENT (and going on holiday on Tuesday but that seems to have been forgotten haha).
FINALLY: the huge savings (livery/bedding/hay/feed etc) mean I am not stressed about getting another sharer and if I have to give up riding in the next 2-3 years as my OH suspects, I wont care 'cos I can afford to keep him forever and ever and ever (horse not OH haha) as a not-so-expensive field ornament!
I will miss the lovely wonderful supportive ladies at my current yard but being only 5 mins ride away, can / will pop in to see them and stay in touch.
I have definitely had my fire re-lit and I am already looking at le-trec's / adult gymkhana's / sponsored rides / shows etc etc - I have never had my own trailer EEK!
This forum has been fab for support, thank you, and I am now using all your trailer threads to help me with all the jargon that goes alongside buying a 1st trailer.

Oh and now I can justify the rather large rug collection I have accrued over the last few years haha!!!
