After tacking up my horse one late afternoon in winter to get in a very quick hack, He was donned up in reflective boots and sheet and i had a tabard on.
Friend appears from her stable looking great new black jacket and lovely navy fleece on her horse, and commented......

"oh he (my horse) looks so good in luminous yellow, I wish i could use High Viz on my horse but you just cant with chestnuts, It clashes"

Me :-O yea, umm, so will blood red and chestnut be the "in" colour scheme this winter then!!!

Was last winter but still amuses/annoys me!

Some people are, lamentably, just too thick to keep horses safely imho. ffs.

Quick someone call the fashion police! Mine is chestnut and wears yellow. Found that the yellow neoprene tail guard stops the cars from sitting on her hocks! People really make me mad I heard it the other day when a mother was saying to her daughter that people that wear Hi Viz look like they are special! Yes we are special as we actually care that are horses can be seen!

Sorry to hear that, that must be a nightmare around Christmas:-( I do actually keep his flashy colar on 'constant' as it gives me a headache and to be honest, I have nearly hit cyclists before with flashy lights as if you blink at the wrong moment with some of them just at the wrong second you don't see them...some of the busy lights are not so good I think...

another thing to do is get a massively reflective yellow neon & checkered silk...tho I am not advising anyone to have the words police ..or to impresonate a mounted officer...they DO have a far bigger impact as people instantly slow down faster ('oh **** was I speeding' kicks in!) tho there would be nothign stopping you having PLEASE where police would be....and slow down in tiny print under hehehe...

Wow, what an example to set her child! I wonder what this mother would say to her daughter if she were to be out on her bike on a dark evening? The importance of Hi Viz was always taught at my school, I remember being given those band things that you can slap on your wrists every year.

Special indeed...she sounds like a clueless idiot to me!

Wow, how the hell am i gonna cope when i start hacking my appy?! Cant possibly put luminous yellow on a leopard spot.. im gonna have to give this some serious thought!

pink with purple for sure!...or...I'm sure you've seen the glitter hoof oil...you could always just spray her spots or unspotty bits fluorescent? Now if that doesn't work...NOTHING will!:D
