Follow on from money avail in emergencies-how much would you give up for your horse?

I went without holidays, going out, new clothes, lived on cheap food and worked all the hours I could (it's amazing how little you spend on gas, electric, water and even loo roll when you're always at work!) so I could keep my horse, run my lorry, and hunt or compete every weekend. I even went to work on a Sunday morning and went competing in the afternoons!

It's not possible for me to live like that anymore as I now have a family, it would not be fair to expect them to go without just so I can get my horsey fix.

My 4 dont really cost that much to keep, I rent land which is so much cheaper than livery they are all natives and dont need huge amounts of feed. Their biggest bills are the vet fees which are just for routine jabs/teeth etc, I have had no serious illnesses from them yet but they are all insured for vets so hopefully that covers that.
If however money became tight I would struggle to have another job since I already have 4, time is already tight another job would mean I would not have the time to look after them all. So unless my husband could not help out during a bad time I would have to loan/sell, a couple of them.

Everything of my own!

Been very lucky that in the last 18 years I havent had to compromise my lifestyle or sell anything to keep Sadie but if I needed to then I would in a heartbeat no questions asked.

If I lost my job then my husband would pick up her cost of upkeep but if we somehow both lost our jobs then I think we would struggle sooner or later.

However if I wasnt working I would move her on to DIY, as I would have the time to commit to her daily care so that would bring the cost of her upkeep down ALOT.

She is far more precious than material possesions or a nice car and is somewhere up there in the ranks of priority of husband/family.

Selling/loaning as a companion would not be an option for a few reasons so if there was absolutely NO WAY for me to keep her in the way she needs to be managed (meds, supplements, stabling etc...) then I would have to consider PTS.
