I went to meet a potential new loan horse today!
I was desperate to not let this one slip away so I rang the owner up and asked if she'd mind me coming along to meet them all. He hadn't had any shoes on yet so I knew he'd not be up to riding just yet. But that was fine, so said I could come out. Then she rang to say shoes were on, if I wanted to join her on a hack...that was fab. But as it turned out, poor wee horse ended up with a kick on his shoulder so that's him out of action for a week or so - understandable but I was still keen to get back to plan A, go out and meet him.
So had a lovely meeting with the horse's family. He is obviously a well loved wee guy and very much a part of the family. I don't want to say too much just yet, a bit superstitious and all that (in case I jinx myself into not getting him). But his owners have offered to bring him out to my yard for me to try in our school (my RI wants to see him as well). I am hoping this is a good sign.
