hi thanks for all your replies, just to say the back man was a chiroprater?? anyway had the vet out today and she said he has pulled a muscle deep in his hind quarter, the swelling is fluid. so a weeks box rest and masses of bute. then i need a physio to work on him, vets have gave me some numbers, but just wondered if any one has a reccomendation, wilts area? and what would be the going rate for physio, i could see this being a expensive few months?? thanks

Poor you , and poor horsey, but at least you have a diagnosis, and it could have been a lot worse. I think the prognosis for muscle strain is much better than for ligament injuries so that's good news in a way

Can't help on the physio front - I'm afraid a it's not my area, but best of luck

Glad you've got a diagnosis! I'm surprised the man was a chiropractor. I had a back person out to my horse who 'popped' her pelvis back into place and I was later told (by vets and chiro's) just how dangerous a thing it is to do. It involves shunting about 7 joints!! Anyway hope he heals well!! Good luck!
