Thanks for everyone who a few weeks back suggested a value and where to advertise our 14.2hh event/competition pony by Triggerero. It took me about a month to get a spare hour to clip him and he now looks a very handsome boy! I've gone for www.horsequest.co.uk (he's the bay a few down with the xc, sj, dressage and standing pics) and will put him on H&H.

Have to admit I didn't go for the £5,500 most of you suggested as a ball park figure given the time of year and we really do want a straightforward sale. Have put him on at £2,800 as really would like him to go to a home who want a pony capable of BE/FEI next year (he's won Eventing Ireland Pony 1*, Pc teams, almost JA etc) but maybe can't afford a really expensive event pony and as a result will love him more. Or am I totally naive? Anyway, fingers crossed!

Bloody Hell, that's cheap. Can I buy him and sell him on for that?

If I was looking and saw that price I would pretty much assume he had something wrong with him, being that cheap.

You can always lower your price if you strat higher.

You will be tempting dealers and speculators who will tell you all sorts of garbage to get a bargain.

Thanks! Was trying to be realistic as he is 15yo rising 16yo and didn't want to price him too high and get no calls at all.

It's so hard to know whether to price high and drop or price realistically and try to get a genuinely swift sale. He is the sweetest, most loving horse or pony I've ever met and yet he's so talented. I would love a home for him with the eldest of a few children or a mature person who will dressage him. Either way, a home where he'll be settled and loved.

Oh, I'm an old romantic!

I want for Beatle just the sort of pony she needs......

Where do you live?

What is the pony's competition name.... you can PM if you like.

Have to say yes to what Thistle said too.

Why are you selling him?

he has won a 1* and ur only asking that??? i would have put him at least at 5000 even with his age in mind....i would look at that and think there was something rong...but a dealer mite snatch him up which wouldnt be gd!

I agree that my first thought on seeing that advert is 'what's wrong if he's that cheap'. I think you should either raise the price or say why he is that price. (e.g. something like 'home more important than price hence £2800').
