What do you recommed to feed for energy in the summer? Corroy normally goes a bit quiet in the summer is is out most weekends doing RC stuff. I have given her comp mix before but does't make a great deal of difference. In the winter she has conditioning cubes. I don't need any condition now though

. Does Linseed oil make a real difference?

I think means break from feeding?! I feed small amounts of a higher energy quick release, so instead of feeding more conditioning, feed quick response feed in small amounts to help buzz... if that makes sense?!?!?!

Bert has been acting like a rocket is up his bum so far this spring so I am actually looking forward to him getting over the spring grass and returning to his normal self. He is a good doer so lives on grass alone and seems to have plenty of energy for what we do.

I usually use D&H Competition Country Mix and the slow and fast release feeds but I did have a lazy horse that I did alot of competiting on that I resulted to feeding microfeed (racehorse mix) I have to say it worked and saved me money in the long run has he only needed a third of the amount of a standard feed but he was extremely lazy and it was a last result to give him some pep. I use linseed oil and I can't say I find it makes alot of difference except to coat and condition, though it is suppose to make some horse exciteable.

Sorry!

I found last summer the spillers response mixes worked well, g just had the slow response.. am trying the Dodson and horrell version with Topspec at mo, and he seems to be going well on it, and looks well.... keeping as fit as possible helps energy levels too....

For the big one i feed:
Slow release mix as standard (1/2 scoop b/fast and dinner)with instant mix in his breakfast - the amount depending what work he's doing, at least 1/4 scoop)

It took a good ten days to really kick in last year, in the winter i only need slow release and haven't started adding the instant yet so couldn't tell you if it was a one off!

Or, try feeding naked oats. They work well with the slow release mix also.

I fed my old horse on spillers instant energy cubes. Worked amazingly combined with the fitness work that was put in, i had a pinging pony! Lots of feed companies were soo unhelpful , saying " you cant change his temperament, but DO feed our brand name" lol, so I just read the bag and it matched what I wanted out of the feed.
He was also on Propell plus for a while, when he was just on hifi cubes and that did work, but not for the sustained sparkle I wanted.

D&H performance concentrate.
Serious rocket fuel lol

Or my favored is D&H Ultimate Balancer with straight oats.

Winston has a habit of putting on weight but going very snoozy this keeps him feisty without piling on calories.

Propell Plus is fantastic, I fed it to Megan and she looked/ felt fab. It is great for extra spakle without sending them round the bend! It also contains echinacea and is a multi vitamin and mineral supplement and its high in iron. I really really rate it. I fed it to Megan with Spillers Responce Mix and HiFi
