I took this photo of the Big Lump on my phone this morning.
To look at him you wouldnt imagine the snorting fire breathing dragon he can do would you.

Here he is at his very happiest Wheelbarrow of haylage with a bucket of water sat in the barrow while his servant mucks out and gives him a new bale of shavings.

He likes to be parked here so he can check out I am doing things right.

So this is what he looks like a month after his hard feed was reduced right down.

And this was what he looked like 18 months ago when I first got him :

they dont ness need any hard feed - depends on what he doing - he def needs to lose weight at the moment. mine is working 6 days a week and is a good doer so only on handful of chaff, handful beet and vits/mins joint supplement - i have also fully clipped her to help get weight off.

What breeding is he? CBx??? As he is a heavey horse hes not going be super thin. He looks better in the 2nd photo. Im not sure if he needs to lose weigh poss be more mucsle needed which will come in time. Re seeing his ribs I have the same with my boy whos IDXDWB my boy doesnt need to put weight on hes good at the moment. My vet esp happy with him as hes always been on the heavy side then I liked in the pastd.

to be honest I think the main difference between the two photos is the horse's fitness. In the first photo, his belly and bum could do with a bit of firming up but in the bottom he could do with a bit of building up in the bum area which has been achieved, just needs toning up ;o)
