From a previous thread I posted, I have changed my mares feed so it's high in fibre and low sugar/starch..

I have previously fed FF and she doesn't eat it so I decided to try Speedibeet but she will only eat some of it. I've added Spillers High Fibre Cubes which have helped, but she won't finish it off.

I have ordered brewers yeast, Pro-balance and micronized linseed which I will add in as soon as it arrives.

But how do I get her to eat it?

She can't eat alfalfa (barefoot and possibly low grade laminitus) so that rules out many chaffs. I can't seem to find a chaff which is just chopped straw?

Mine eats anything with brewers yeast in it. That or some chopped mint or sugar free apple cordial. He's fussy too. The other hoovers anything up, so don't need o worry about him! I've fed pure easy in the past - just chopped straw and Timothy grass with balancer in it, but if you feed a handful just to mix pro balance etc in that wouldn't matter. Mine loved pure feeds. How much sugar beet are you feeding? Mine get an apple sized blob - equimins, salt and magox get mixed in fine and it always gets eaten.

I think Mollichaff is only straw? And also possibly Fibergy. I use something called Winter Glow Summer Shine (or Winter Shine Summer Glow - can't remember which way round it is) which is fenugreek and linseed and my horse goes mad for it. He will eat fenugreek seeds straight out of my hand. Maybe worth a go?

I think halleys do a timothy hay chop - that would be suitable.
honeychop do an umolassed straw chop, but it may not be very palatable.

How long have you persevered with getting her to eat the new feed? A lot of times because its not sweet and yummy, they take a while of being given it over and over until they give in and realise they will not get anything else.
Also I find soaking the high fibre cubes works, so they cant pick them out but it makes a tasty mush!
