about not being able to find a horse to share.

How many of you have a horse/pony that you want a sharer for?

I need a sharer for my 14.2, I can't belive how hard it is to find someone. I don't want any money I don't even want them to muck out, just ride the pony a few times a week and go to shows if they want to.

I have told everyone I know and advertised at the local tack shop but no one!

When I was younger I would have bitten someones arm of if they offered me a pony that could be ridden and taken to shows ( my dad used to deal so all I ever had was un-broken horses/ponies that needed breaking and when they where ready to show etc they went).

I could understand if I wanted loads of money etc but a free ride

*is moving to Herts* I gave up trying to find something to share in my local area as every single one wanted stupid amounts of money to ride their horse once a week and help THEM out.

GRRRRR rant over. People give sharers such a bad name sometimes.
 
Humm... I'm just considering trying to find a sharer for Pippy, if I do decide to try to find one I would expect people to be really after the chance, but it sounds as if they don't atm.
 
In contrast to your situation, where I live it's nearly impossible to find a horse to ride/share! At uni there are adverts everywhere for "Rider wanted" and nearly everyone who wanted a horse to ride has found one, but here it's a different story. My horse is now retired and I don't have time for another one full time. Having said that, I was offered a horse to ride today, so it's not all bad =o)
 
I'm desperately looking for a sharer at present. I've had one try my mare out - turned out she weighed about 15 stone, so I turned her down if anyone's wondering, and made a mental note to ask the weight of the next person who rang...

Apart from that, nothing despite advertising everywhere!
 
I did suggest to admin that we have a section for finding sharers/horses to share on here but they said no because it goes against the advertising rule.
But it doesnt stop people advertising anyway. *grumble*
I'm looking for a horse and am struggling as well. AGG!
 
Like you jpq, I'm looking for a sharer/loaner for my 14,2. All costs will be paid by me, just love her, ride her, take her to shows and look after her through the winter. But no takers!!! I thought it was just coz I'm in Wales but seems not lol!

I also wish Admin would start a loan/share section - the thing about advertising doesn't really apply because most people wouldn't pay huge sums just to advertise their horse/pony for share, so H&H aren't losing out on anything. In fact, I think they'd actually gain coz more people would know to look at their Forum which would bring in more revenue etc. Hope you're reading this Admin!
 
I can't find anyone either and like you I am only looking for someone to ride one of mine a bit and compete, hunt or whatever just because I don't really have time so advertised as no financial contribution wanted. I said I would consider full loan to the right person too but the only interest I have had has been from novice kids

Now she's by no means a novice ride but she's not a fruit loop either so I will probably just turn her away for the winter when I really can't ride her and bring her back into work in the spring.........again

I tell you the problem - none of you are in Warwickshire!

I still don't know whether the little lady in my sig pic will ever be sound enough for me to ride, and I'm kind of looking for someone else just in case. I've even advertised, but no dice.

I like to think it's because me and the pretty mare are meant for one another, and I just need to be patient.

I agree with you on this one! I wish it was as easy to find a horse to share in Wiltshire as it sounds it would be where you all are!
In wiltshire they are like golddust, and if you are lucky enough to find one, you'd better hold on to it, as someone else will snap your arm off for it!
They just dont come up at all.
