What was your horsey dream, and have you fulfilled it?

I wanted to ride at a County Show - I fulfilled this in 2009 and we were placed!

I wanted to win and be Champion at County level and we did this in June this year (am still smiling at the memory! :))

I wanted to own my own horse and box and we finally achieved this in 2004

I still want to gallop on the beach with my show cob....

I would like to do a Novice test

I would like to go out on a proper hack just me and my horse (Can manage a short loop but I have confidence problems on the main roads we have here so I hack with a companion)

How about you? :)

I fulfilled most of mine with my last horse, nothing major just

hack out alone around cannock chase (did this a lot)
have my own box (still have it)
go hunting
get placed at novice DR
win a trophy (or few)
take part in HT, XC and trec

Want to do things with new horse now

Jump a 3ft course and win or get placed

do a WH comp at local show

ride and do well in an elementary test (a way off)

Still would like to ride on the beach and do a XC course, it maybe my ankle prevents the last one tho

For now though I would settle for being able to ride and compete for a number of years without needing more surgery!!!!!

I always wanted to ride on a beach, a safe horse as mine is a bit spooky, I did eventually do it and lots of times after that, he is 32 but thinks he is 3 sometimes but loves going with his mate, we joke that its an OAP outing as he is over 20, they like each others company and don't wind each other up so we have a lovely time, 1st time we went I was so scared he'd bolt off, he was so spooked by the drift wood, change in colour of wet and dry sand we barely trotted, had visions of going over his head ! better now but he doesn't like the sea and does a banana towards home lol

I have done 1 and will do another in 4 weeks!

First was to go eventing, which I did in April when I took my cob to a ODE (and won :D), the other is to ride at a big show which will happen at the end of the month when we go SJ at Hickstead!

My ultimate Dream is to compete at PSG & hopefully above & be competitive at the level, unfortunately everytime it starts to look like i may just get there something happens & i keep getting older :(. So no i havent fullfilled my dream yet!

My next dream is to get to Nationals with one of my horses, ive been to regionals every year & been placed in the top 5, 3 times now at different levels but never got through to nationals.

My final dream would be for my KWPN who was the horse who was set for making PSG to come back to full work & reach PSG :)

One day

Gain confidence out hacking to be able to hack out alone, even if its just in walk for half an hour (done this)
Compete at Prelim and get placed (did this 6 days after buying her, we won!!!)
And now I want to be able to compete at novice level dressage with the aim for eventually schooling her to medium / advanced medium and affiliate! (A way off yet but novice test at the moment is achieveable.. elementary has sideways stuff in it.. that stresses the poor pony out but we will get there I am determined!)

Well the first was to get my own horse, which I did in 2005 :D all the usual things went along with that, hack out alone, teach him to jump etc.

Like many I always wanted to ride on the beach, I took my boy for my birthday last year and had a blast!

My current ones would be to go XC for the first time ever :o
To ride and get placed at the Regionals & Nationals (at any level!)
I would love to one day do an Advanced Medium test with the boy.

my dream was to be the best showjumper in the world and own lots of valuable pretty talented horses. did i achieve this? nope :) i competed BSJA on ponies then gave up. got in to dressage and now ive ended up with a 12.2hh fat NF and a 16hh crippled ex race horse but i couldnt be happier :D

With my last horse is was to jump bsja (did that). Oh and to get over 70% dressage (did that!).

With current horse I don't really have any big dreams just yearly goals.
We achieved last years goals when he was 4/5.
This year now he's 5/6 the goals were to get over 60% in a novice dressage test (we did this), go clear round a hunter trial (did this). We have two goals left 1. To complete a ODE, hopefully this will happen as we are entered for our first BE in a couple of weeks! 2. Jump a british novice which we are on track for too.

Fingers crossed!

Ultimatly I just wanted to train him to be a good allrounder at all affilliated disciplines and be a nice, well schooled, easy horse and we are definitly getting there so it's all good :).

My dream was to have a horse of my own not just a loan...did that.

Then to just manage to ride the insane thing I stupidly bought instead of the safe school master I should have bought...did that (eventually).

Then to hack out alone..sort of did that still have issues sometimes.

Then to gallop on a huge sandy beach...moved so get to do that alot, and it's still a thrill every blumming time!!:D

Show jump...finally did that!

XC..did that, not hugely sucessfully but we stick to the mini's and have a laugh while we fling ourselves over things!!

Drag hunting..finally last winter I went out for the first time and it was everything I dreamt off and MORE!!! This season I'm hoping to do more but seeing as my lad has decided with all these new exciting things he has to become a bouncing monster it all depends on my nerves.

TBH there isn't much more I want to achieve with Kane, next big plan is to buy a youngster and bring him on.

I had 3 childhood dreams, the first was to compete at 4* eventing - did that
The second to compete at a high level in another disipline - did that (GP dressage)
The third to compete at the olympics - never managed that one  :D

I was very lucky that as a junior i jumped at a few of the BIG shows.

So now the children are a bit older and I have a horse that I'm confident I can be pretty competitive with I would like to replicate this.

ATM we are just unaff SJ and having lessons. But I suppose my goals are..

Goal 1 - Be ready to confidently affiliate
Goal 2 - Qualify for regionals BN & Newcomers and some county shows and Blue Chip
Goal 3 - Progress to Fox hunters

Just thought of another...
Goal 4 - Win a sash- I had a lot of success as a junior but never got a sash and I'd really like one - Funny what you remember!

I have not time limits and am going to have a lot of fun along the way :D I always think Aim high and if you only get half way you've still done well x

Mine was to have my own horse, anything over that was a bonus. I bought my boy last year :D now my dream with him would be to ride him in an evening performance but I'm not sure we'll ever be that good. MY aim is that we'll be good enough to compete at the great Yorkshire and not look out of place! COming not last would be enough I just want to gallop down in front of the grandstand!

To gallop on the beach

To have a blast on the stubble fields (did this for the first time last year!)

To go on epic hacks and be confident doing so by myself - working on this

To have my own trailer/small lorry

To be as confident as I used to be!

My horsey dreams were and are:

To canter along a beach, did this in Kota Kinabalu Borneo a few years ago.

To try Polo, maybe next year.

To have a go at jousting, maybe never, it would cost 7 or 8 grand just for the armour without buying a suitable horse and proper tack.

To enter a small local competition, not sure if I want to try cross country or showjumping but I wouldn't even know where to start and I don't have my own horse yet so it is a bit of a non starter.

To try some form of hunting, see reasons above as to why I can't do this one either.

Commong knowledge to may on here is my aim was to get aBritish Dressage point, I even have a bottle of champagne waiting to celebrate it.
The champagne is now 7 years old and getting that point looks more doubtful by the day.

Being ancient, I've tumbled most off my 'hit list' like running own yard, competing at HOYS, Olympia & champs at county level (apart from competing at Badminton and the olympics, both childhood dreams :D )

Achieved another last year - in getting a coloured fuzzy, just about the only colour I've never had (or produced) - and am really happy hacking about & schooling on occasions as well as planning a winters drag hunting.

Go chase your dreams everyone :)

I always wanted my horses....achieved that.

Got my own yard- small- nowt posh but its mine ( well, rented)

Having grown up reading the Jinny books I always a pure-bred arab- got one ...Yay:D

So....I don't compete, just mess about with t'osses...but thats enough for me.:D

To have my own horse to school and hack so I can do small, fun competitions and improve as a rider.

Still not achieved but I'll get there one day.

, competing at HOYS, Olympia

nice!!

I wanted a horse, and I have one!

I havent forfilled any yet but I still have a few years....
Mine are too
- Own a horse, hopefully to be achieved once I get a job probably after Uni
- Ride my own horse around XC, massive dream is to ride around a 4* but this wont happen so I have to be realisitic
- Go for a gallop along the beach

when i was younger, about 10, i was watching at a bsja show and there was a large lady jumping a horse in the warm up for a british novice.
I thought 'ooo I wish that was me one day'

I managed that, and said lady is still jumpnig british novice (on different horses obviously!), i have managed up to 1.40 so far....!

My biggest one was to get a horse and jump BSJA! And finally in 2007 I got my dream horse, only to find out she was the most evil mare in the world! But I persisted and after 3 years of getting her to just go round a midget course, falling off daily, being bitten and kicked, oh and chased whenever I dared go near her in a field, we're happily jumping round British Novice and I love her to bits! Next dream is to qualify for Scope or Blue Chips next year! And then become an international showjumper on my 15.1 tubby horsie! (Only joking!)

My childhood dream was to do all sorts of competitions with my youngster, never mind getting places, just for him to have a chance to do it all. Now my dream is to jump a single cross pole without falling to pieces :(
