The reverse also happens. When I was selling Colin (decided to keep him in the end - too many numpty buyers) the ad read as follows:
2yo Registered PRE (Andalusian) Grey Gelding. 15hh now should make 15.3hh. Well handled and polite. Good with Farrier, vet etc. Only for sale as have too many horses and husband is a grouch.
Caller 1: How much training has he had as I want him for my 8yo - he's 2 I don't think so
Caller 2: Is it a racehorse - no go away
Texter 1: Looking for horsey girls to model tight jodphur boots please call 00000 00000000 - I kid you not
Caller 3: How much training has he had as I want him for my husband to learn to ride on - he's 2 and a hotblood - not for a novice ( this one argued the toss as she could ride and had owned her own horse, a coloured cob, for six months, I had to insist that he was not right for her OH before she would go away)
Texter 2: My name is Mark and I am sexy and horsey, if your husband is a grouch, please call me - WTF!!!!!!!
Caller 4 - I am looking for a youngster and would like an andalusian. This one actually got past my radar, but turned up with her own Parelli headcollar, told me he was a left brain introvert and very very intelligent (not true, bless him he is not the sharpest) she wanted to do Parelli competitions (did not realise there was such a thing) with him. NOOOOOOOOOOO I like him too much to let the poor little sod end up doing Parelli
Still have Colin, probably always will, have not met a person yet that I would let him go to (except for M_G - she is his alternative mummy
