SEIB, been with them for nearly 3 years and had 2 claims within months of each other. Paid out no problem on the first and the second is just going through.
i have my other horses with pet plan... not the cheapest, but have always been good to deal with and you can play around with their policys more... ie to suit the individual
I recommend Petplan, we have used them on all our horses and they have been very swift in paying for treatment for our horses that we have had to claim for.
One included claiming LOU and they were fab sorting that out for us and then the other horse had an op on her hock and went to a rehab yard which they helped pay for too.
Im with Carriagehouse and have found them to be totally fantastic have made a large claim and was pid in full within four days and they were very supportive and helpful with advice, made the whole experience
Im with Pet Plan, and they have been great with everything, inc re-valuing Melly, as I bought her for meat price, but she is worth much more now! touch wood (hug a damn tree all of you-now!!!)I havent had to claim so far......Do you get the feeling I might have just jinxed myself??!!xx
My Vet recommended either Petplan or NFU- I went with Petplan cos you can do it online......not needed to claim anything as yet (touch wood) but I was with E+L and it was very stressful, so anythings gotta be better than that!! Also, my Vets won't deal with E+L- I had to pay vets bills and claim back....
NFU is fantastic. My trailer was stolen about 5 years ago now, had only had it 2 months and they paid out for a brand new trailer. Then Alisha was in and out of the vet college for various scans etc when she broke her pedal bone, all we had to pay was the excess and half the livery whilst she was at the vets
I've just had a very long winded claim with e an l, but they did pay out without question, eventually. but it did drive me mad. Friend had a claim with AM trust and they have been alot worse than e and l. They refused to pay claim after agreeing to, now they've paid vets fee's and are still quibling about the loss of use claim, 8 months on. NFU have been really good when I've claimed with them.
KBIS are fantasic i had a claim last year and they paid out really quickly everything was done in the best interest of my horse which made me really happy so highly recommend them!!
This thread, as with all others regarding E&L, goes to show that basically insure with any equine insurance company rather than with E&L. I'm sure that all their advertising, including hiding behind several other names, drags in the unsuspecting new horse owner as their quotes are invariably lower than most.
