Maggie has always been ridden in a flash with a french link hanging cheek bit.
When i started sharing her i changed her bit to a nue schule loose ring verdibind for flat and a nue schule gag for jumping. She much preffered both and started working in a more open outline instead of tucking her head in.
But then she started resisting the verdibind so we changed to a mullen myler bit which she conects with really well but again seems to tuck up a bit and shorten her steps. If you keep swapping between the two she seems to go best!
So talking about broken nosebands has got me thinking.... she does cross her jaw and will open her mouth when you apply even gentle brake pressure. She is a great one for avoidance esp for lateral work or stopping in an outline. So would a different nose band help?
She is typically on the forehand and can lean, the myler is brill as she actually carries her head up by herself! but she also takes shorter steps...
BTW her teeth and everything were checked recently, all was fine!
