My horse is in his teens..possibly early twenties.

He is a grey...white hairs/black skin. No pink bits. Black muzzle/around eyes and black bum-hole (possibly too much info there:eek:).

When I first got him about 6 years ago he had a few chestnut 'fleabites' on his neck and shoulders only.

Now he's covered in them...they are over his back/belly/legs. Not so obvious in winter when he's fluffy.

If he has a cut/graze ( which used to be quite often when we were on livery yards) sometime the hairs grow back white, sometimes chestnut.

So....is it likely that he was chestnut as a foal?

And....if he lives into his thirties.....will he be chestnut again?

Yep, he was probably born chestnut. My Gracie was, then she got grey and now at 17 she is proper fleabitten chestnutty thing, I'm wondering if she will become chestnut again with age - it would not be a total surprise as she has a 'chestnut mare personality', so it would fit:D
