Recommendations please!! Some people may have read my former posts about my complicated young mare, who for some mystery reason resists going forwards and at times (particularly whilst being mounted) panics and bolts. She's fine on all the basic checks, not lame, fine on spinal and front feet x-rays and she has a lovely temperament on the ground. I can't afford Sue Dyson on the basis of 'gut feeling' when its quite plausable that the problem is entirely behavioural, but I am of the opinion that normally this kind of behaviour pattern is pain related.

I figure I've got nothing to lose by giving one of these psychics a go. I'm sceptical, but since the vets are at a bit of a loss (one called her an enigma - which I'm kind of proud of

) its possible they might point us in the right direction. I just want to make sure I use the best possible person so I'd appreciate any information from people who can recommend someone. I'm in the North West but can travel. Thankyou!!!

No scans, just x-rays. The vets and a chiropractor have also done their general back checks and both are of the opinion that she has a very good back and that there would be some indications from her reactions to these tests if there was a possible problem anywhere along her back. I think its more likely to be in her back legs/pelvis if there is a physical problem. I just can't justify the expense of more random tests - the vets think I'm a hyperchondriac on my horse's behalf. I've said many times I wish the horse could talk and tell me what her problem is - I suppose the next best thing is someone who reckons they can read her mind!!

The physio found my horse's SI probs. The vet gave her the all clear the week before but suggested physio (I think he thought i was being neurotic too!!).Funnily enough, the physio immediately said SI and then the vet said "Oh we shall send her for MRI scans!"Scintigraphy showed up a multitude of probs. TBH I still dont really know where the problems have stemmed from. I know what you mean about feeling like a hypochondriac though!! I just knew that something wasnt right and I had done all the normal checks. I had got to the point where i was thinking maybe i am just crap! However i also had the knowledge that she had not always been like this. She had been good and straightforward from the start. Something had gone wrong. It is much harder if you have bought a horse with a problem. I had had several years of good work from her.

So might be worth getting a good physio to have a look. I think a Physio would consider muscles/soft tissue rather than spine.

But i also think horse psychics are interesting!

Thanks everybody. Weezy, I know I'm not good at shutting up but TBH if anyone came up with what I have without the information given I wouldn't be particularly impressed. Even if they're not really psychic I'd just like some new ideas from outside the box.
