well I feel a bit bad hijacking the other post so can any one recomend a yard near chelmsford preferably to the south west. I am not fussed if it is grass or with a stable but it must be DIY (going to be a student so money will be limited but lots of time). I would like all year round turnout and would prefer a school but if no school I would need some where to ride. Off road hacking would be nice and if there are any competitions that are not to far away that would be great but not a nessesity (sp?). Can I also have some idea on the cost aswell :D and how likely am I to be able to find livery for term times only?
thanks :D

I used to share a horse that was stabled at the livery yard part of Chelmsford EC in Galleywood. It was DIY but you could ask for extra services. Turnout all year round, livery school plus another outdoor school to use and an indoor (none of which I ever saw the RS use as they had their own indoor school.)

They also had jumps to use in the schools, a jumping paddock and xc course to use in the summer. Hacking was a bit rubbish but lots of people to ride out with. Also space to park your trailer and someone living on site so more safe than usual.

Not sure about term times only, but while I was there they often had a stable free so you might be ok. Something like £30 a week for a stable.
