Following on from my "to rug or not rug" post - CLIPPING

i thought i was going to have this problem with my boy but i spent two days having the clippers running near him then running them closer and closer to him and giving him a carrot if he didnt jump 20ft in the air positive reinforcement and all that then i started having them running and running them down his shoulder and took my time

Echo JenTaz, take your time. Also may help to get some of those tiny dog trimmers (only cost £10), and get him used to them first as they are a lot quieter and vibrate less. Once he is used to these you can gradually introduce big clippers. I know some people use electric toothbrushes to the same effect!

As JT says

Need to desensitize. Slowly and with positive reinforcement.

Great advice but alas I dont have my own clippers

Was hoping to get the lady due on Friday to clip....Maybe I need to re-think my plan (or use my hairdressing clippers haha)
