I think I've now sorted the rosette issue :)

this is the double layered one - the top layer can be pulled a bit tighter to make it smaller.

this is the centre I was thinking of using - it's basically just a plain button and can be done in gold as well as silver. I can also add more layers to it.

ETA: also tried tails and I think I need thicker ribbon :rolleyes: Thanks to whoever reminded me about them - I'll be ordering wider ribbon shortly.

Oh yes, love the double layered one. I am itching to see a pretty bead or something pearly in the centre but I like the metallic button idea as well. The size it is now, the button is a little overwhelming to me, sort of drowns the rosette. You have moved the decoration more to the ends which is good (the big bow things looked too far in).

well I can get button with pearls/diamantes on them - is that the sort of thing you were thinking of? :confused:
I was thinking about adding another layer to the button-centered ones? That should stop the buttons being overwhelming. :D

ETA: i took the massive rosette off - how does this look?
