What's your mucking out routine, how often do you take all the bedding out and replace it, and how often do you turn the bedding over? Just curious as to what people do! Where I used to ride, beds were turned everyday, wet also taken out as well as droppings and then flattened out etc. Then they were just skipped out in the evening as they were often out or on the yard during the day. I think they completely replaced all the bedding once a month or so, because the horses were usually out in the field anyway, the grazing was fab. Where I am now I think they usually leave the wet to dry on a daily basis and then on the weekend take it out, don't think tend they take absolutely everything out and replace. Obviously skipped out daily as well. Anyway, over to you! Have only ridden at 2 or 3 stables in my life so am curious! :) xx

In winter I like to clean out completely once a month, but I have rubber mats down, if I hade deep litter, and I would have to have a really big box, I would lift wet once a day and skip out as often as possible.
On deep litter I like to build up good dry walls, on rubber mats, I keep the walls smaller, and put a bale of shavings evenly over walls and floor.
In summer I leave a little bed to lie on but have more concrete.

My 2 are on deep litter, pellets on the bottom and shavings on top. I take all the poo out, fork all the shavings up the banks and then sift through them, put everything down and then re-do the banks and level the bed. When necessary I level the wet layer so it is flat. I don't take my wet out, I just keep levelling it so it doesn't get massive. I probably put a new bag of pellets in each bed every 3 months and a bag of shavings between the 2 beds every 2 weeks.
