Sorry if this sounds a thick ask, I am in the process of having a new saddle and the fitter is coming out next week , as he is broad shouldered the saddle that I am hopeful to purchase is well fitted but obviously I need a pad of some kind.

So am I right in thinking that just a prolite pad would suffice, if this was to be used at the time of the fitting, therefore I wouldn't need a traditional saddle pad.

Or can anyone suggest a good thin saddle cloth.

Thanks

The thinnest numnahs/saddlecloths I have found are the NuuMed Griffin Everyday ones.
Why do you think you need a pad though if you haven't had the saddler out to tell you whether you need one yet?

I always ride in a saddle cloth to give the horse some protection, I have had one saddle fitting and it was felt that the medium fit was slightly too tight across his shoulders and am now trying a MW fit.

I posted the thread wondering if I could use a prolite as a saddle cloth , or should I stick to a normal thin saddle cloth .I will not need the nummah to make the saddle fit, but to be used purely as a protection for his back.

I would never ride without something no matter how well the saddle fit.

Thanks Silmarillion, I'm not very good at explaining things, I know what I want to say, its just comes across Cr*p.

I will have a look at the numnah's you suggested.

I ride using a prolite pad, but with no saddlecloth/numnah and haven't had any problems. The pad itself is washable, so I don't feel the need to use additional cloths.
