got one through today. Costs £115. for a call out, looking at some cuts and five sachets of medicine. Bit steep (first time I have used these vets)

But they charged me £10 admin fee. they were meant to send medicine through day after vet came out. I rang them a week later, and they hadnt posted it, After I reminded them, it came. Should I refuse to pay the "admin" fee?

Never heard of an admin fee being added to a bill.

What's wrong with collecting the drugs yourself??

Call me cynical but I'm guessing they didn't suggest that.....

It would never occur to me to do otherwise - unless the vet left me with the drugs - which if they were Bute or Danillon or Antibiotics they would have, as they always carry a quantity.

My veterinary practice is a way from my house too - about 40 miles.

Sorry, not trying to be pedantic.

Have to say have never had medicines posted, have always collected but vets is only about 15 miles away. Having said that the other week vet dropped some medication off for dog as she was passing, which I thought was pretty good service, and in the past they have dropped stuff off at the shop where I work, which is about half way between me and vets, and some of the staff live in the town.

I was quite suprised when they didnt have the medication with them. However, as it was about the last call of the day, and with being far away from the office, I am presuming that they had run out somewhere along the line.

unfortunatly even if they had of suggested collecting them, I wouldnt have been able to get there...

Will go back to using normal vets!
