Find me something similar!

I am really struggling to find a happy hacker, doesn't have to have been there and done that, just want to plod around the lanes and bridle paths at walk and trot.

I am fine with older horses, something with a bit of 'character' is no problem, even something slightly spooky.

People are always saying that there are all these horses being sent to auction or being pts due to being unsellable due to their age and/or ability but I am pretty sure there are plenty of others like me who could offer a great home for these horses.

I am happy to pay £1k max, so get looking........

If you want a safe and sound Happy Hacker you need to be spending about £2,500 - £4,500 as they are pretty unique and sort after horses and people rarely get rid of them.

There are some older horses out there which would be great as happy hackers but their age puts people off.

My old girl was given to me free and is a fantastic schoolmistress, although now sadly retired. A friend bought a fantastic cob for £600 a few months ago. 10 years old, a complete plod and an all round great little horse, so they are out there!

mine cost me £5

(and that was more than we agreed cos I ffelty awful giving her £1)

i know what you mean though, ive already been offered £2k for her and with time shell be worth twice that i would expect as shes that lovely height of 14.2hh

theres a 16.3hh coloured cob on horsequest (in the under £1000)- states its got ringbone so wont cope with heavy hunting but will be fine for hacking - only £550

yes, i agree a safe and sound one... but if you don't mind something with a bit of character, bit older and the odd injury there's so many out there that need homes

Totally agree.
I paid £500 for my 14.3 heavy. Fab in every way. Anyone could ride him. He was a quiet hack but could up the anti if it was right to do so.
Best horse i've ever known or owned.

Sorry but thats utter codswallop and an attitude that allows people to charge extortionate amounts for rubbish horses!

All the horses on my yard hack out quietly alone or in company, all are sound and I dont think anyone has ever paid more than £1200 for them, and most of them were free (ex racers)
