I only like this cheap stuff. What would you do?!

I give Cecil half decent food and he loves it.
OH is a die hard skinners working dog food fan, a local lady delivers it and the entire farm workers dogs love it.

Little basil, he has butchers tinned because he needs to eat and won’t otherwise. I want him to have it mixed with better quality food, especially as he’s a paw licker but he refuses anything other than a skinners topping!

How important is good quality when you have a dog that will literally refuse food for days on end?

He looks and feels (do you mean feels as in body condition wise?) great, best ever!
He used to be ribby and boney, now he’s covered nicely but not anywhere near fat.
It’s more that he does lick his feet, admittedly not terribly but definitely does and had bad ears, been treated by a vet.
I just like that I recognise every ingredient in the better food, I feel like that’s what I should feed, he leaves it though.
I think butchers is pretty good though so he’s getting that at least

They do little sample packs. My dog won't eat it because she is a fussy bitch, but my vet feeds all hers on it.

I’d be interested to hear of any good brands that do samples.
He gets so little food if I buy a bag it’s such a waste
Wolfworthy do samples, it’s a good food and mine loved it, unfortunately it seemed to be too rich for my lurcher as he had runny poos, so I swapped to burgess sensitive

I also tried Bentleys taste of the ocean , they do samples, dogs liked it but it smelt a bit too fishy ( not surprising) for me in the mornings

When I used this food as training treats my dog loved it.

As far as I can see they only ship to Austria and Germany? Perhaps there’s a Uk supplier though, I’ll Google because it sounds nice and I think he’d like the softer kibble

Ordered! Thank you!

If he likes Skinners just use one of the better quality recipes like the Duck and Rice which are less likely to cause itching. They've also got a Salmon recipe out now.

That would indeed be the obvious 😂 may grab a little bag of the salmon or duck, which is actually smaller bits aswell than the one we have so might be better- this had the plus that if he won’t eat it I know it’s ok for Soud to use up.

Will have a look at that and the fish one, I’m
Not keen on fishy smell either though 🤢

Thanks!

Sorry, I should have checked the link.

Try this one. If you still have problems ordering, there is an 0800 number at the top of the page.

My free samples arrived today.
The wolf one is like a present! Gorgeously wrapped in tissue paper, very special! I’ve not had a proper look yet but there’s a lot in it!
The other, the Platinum, sent 4 different flavours and I took a hand full out with us poo picking the field- they went down like a storm! All 3 loved it, we tried chicken which I wouldn’t actually buy as a main food so have beef, lamb and something else to try.
Have to say it looks far nicer (to a human!) than usual dry kibble and it smells nice too.

My fussy lab really likes the platinum, and when I worked it out it wasn’t that expensive to feed when bought in bulk.

I haven’t actually looked at costs of either yet, assumed the fussy little hair ball would just turn his nose up at them anyway.
Luckily the amount they sent will feed him for a good few days at least, which will give him time to decide truthfully 😂
