My big dog has had to have surgery on his tongue, vet thinks it is possibly and old injury that has been aggrevated but has taken a biopsy too,
So his mouth is really sore and its very swollen so he's struggling with his biscuits, so does anyone have any suggestions of easily chewed/swallowed food I can give him?

You could try soaking his regular biscuits so they go soft and mushy?

Otherwise tinned food might be easier for him for a while - sometimes if you roll it into meatballs it's easier for them to swallow down - or you could ask your vets for some a/d or recovery or similar which you can mix with water to make a gruel if he can drink more easily.

Hope he feels better soon :)

The vet had suggested making his biscuits soggy but they stay pretty solid when you add water, the canned meat gives him an upset stomach
the vet said he should be back on his biscuits by now, they just suggested scrambled eggs/boiled rice for a couple of days

Cooked fish with rice? Maybe try and get some Salmon oil from Fish 4 Dogs for extra calories if he needs them

Hope he recovers quickly, poor lad.

I am sure he will be back on his biscuits soon, but in the meantime, chicken and rice, made into a mush with a little water should be ok, or you can put his biscuits in the blender with a little warm water and make him soup :)

Thanks for all the suggestions he has had some canned tuna in oil and some pasta, also my YO is an absolute star and has given me a tray of eggs and a chicken (good job I'm not squeamish as it still has its feathers etc) so am going to try boiled chicken and rice and see how he goes
Hopefully the biopsy wont show anything bad and he will be back o- his feet in no time
