I'm interested in foot following a hunt this year :) So any information on foot following would be greatly appreciated :) & some numpty questions!

Do you have to pay a cap like you would if you were on a horse?
How much walking is there involved or do you wait at a certain place?
Can you follow in a car? Just thinking that my nan would probably come with me and she has diabetes so her feet aren't very good!
What do you have to wear? Is wellies acceptable?
Do you need to ring the hunt before hand or can you just turn up? I'm guessing you have to ring but just thought I would make sure!

Thank you :D

Do you have to pay a cap like you would if you were on a horse? You are supposed to give a donation a couple of pounds each would be Ok.

How much walking is there involved or do you wait at a certain place? Depends on where you are and what meet you attend you will have to speak to Sec of your local hunt.

What do you have to wear? Is wellies acceptable? You can wear whatever you are comfy in and yes wellies are the best bet.

Your welcome where are you, do you know your local hunt?

Thank you Simsar :D My local hunt is the VWH, my nan use to hunt with them as a child, so I'm sure she will be thrilled to go back!

Whilst I would love to go hunting on a horse, I lack the horse and the confidence at the moment, so my grand plan is go for few seasons on foot to get the feel of it & by then I should be confident enough to go hunting on a horse!

Oh wow your Nan will tell you what to do in that case. Keep us posted on how you get on, you should have a ball with that lot, whoop windy. xx
