Foot sore problems

Hi all I'm going to loan a 16 yr old cob x shire, at the moment he isn't shod as owners removed his shoes as they have not done much work with him recently. Up until then he was shod on all four. They have told me they have him shod as he can get a little foot sore especially when hacking out on Stoney tracks. This doesn't put me off but just wondering what problems if any I may have?
A full contract is being set up .

Yes he's fine at the moment and yes the bridle ways where I live can be Stoney but if I have him shod surely that won't be a problem then would it?

You could keep him BF/unshod and see how he copes, if the owner is happy with this. If he doesn't cope, get boots or shoe the fronts/all four as required.

Thank you I was thinking the same thing, the owners are very nice and I know if I have any problems they will be happy to advise
