Hi Guys
Just wanted a bit of advice
On tues I usually have a riding lesson, but after walking down to the arena and during warming up - i felt my horse wasn't right - my instructor asked to see him trot and he was lame on his front right - now as i was grooming him i picked out a stone from that foot and cos of all the mud about it was quite compacted into his foot - i didn't think anything of it until i got on board
so we stopped immediately - i got off took him back and cleaned his feet with salt water (just incase) - now there was a bit of heat in his hooves but no heat in his legs and no obvious signs of anything
i decided to rest him a few days and i am going to trot him up tonight to see how he is
but bearing in mind he was lame on tues night - i have given him wed and thurs and today off - if he's still not right this evening should i call the vet or give him longer - bearing in mind i think it could be a bruised sole - although yesterday the slight heat had gone
i'll post later on how he trotted up - i think if he's not right i'll get the vet out - although i am tempted to think it's a combination of the stone and the fact he was hooning around the other night
