Hi all, my boy is a ten year old thoroughbred (very brief racing career) who for the last year has been suffering with intermittent lameness in one front foot. He has been x-rayed a few times in the last few years as we have suffered with a few bruised soles; he has big flat sensitive feet, and is now in graduated heart bars to help the angle of his feet. The x-rays show that his foot conformation is not wonderful but is not problematic enough that he should be suffering with lameness from it so we are now heading for an MRI scan, suspecting possible damage to the soft tissue and/or ddft. I have been recommended two vets to possibly be referred to and just wondered if anyone has had any experience they could share with me - Goncalo Esteves at the RVC in Potters Bar or Ian Wright at NEH in Newmarket (not Rossdales, but similar location!). Has anyone used either of these vets and could give me some guidance on who might be best suited to look at my problem?
Thanks in advance!
