My tb is approx. 10 weeks home from Rockley - been doing really well but has been sore for the past few days. No change in routine diet etc apart from a wormer approx. 2 weeks ago. Talking to a few people opinion seems to be divided as to whether this could be a reason - the only other thing I can think iis that its been reasonably nice weather over the past few days and whether there is a bit more in the grass at the moment. Any tips or advice as still reasonably new to all this and have been speaking to Nic about him - just interested in other peoples exp :)

I have seen footiness due to wormer, also general unwellness (like a virus), scouring, colic type symptoms etc. however I would expect to see these within 24-48 hours after giving the wormer, not 2 weeks later.

I would look to the grass first as a possible culprit. Can you reduce the amount of grass for a few days and see if there is an improvement? Also check for any thrushiness.

Im going to pop in the lunge pen for a few days and see how we do - there is no obv sign of thrush - no smell, icky black stuff but his central sulcus is still deep (his frogs were basically eaten away under the pads and wedges he had on - its a miracle he has any frogs at all to be honest but it probably wouldn't hurt to treat anyway

Shy had colic five days ago, and he was footy yesterday. The grass is also coming though, and this can make him footy. He's now on his summer regime (muzzle/soaked hay).

For the next few weeks at least I'll be using his hoof boots, and if need be, get him back to the vet.

Hope it works out quickly. x

I have kept him in today and he has just had hay and a handful of alfa nuts to get his vits and I purchased some restore today - looks as miserable as sin :(
