There is a really good article in horse this month .Lots of options and pics with new types of alternative shoes.Well worth a look if you are dealing with collapsed heels or bruised soles.

Can i please emphasis that you listen primarily to you FARRIERS oppinion of the ideal shoeing of your horse.. and dont go telling him you want your horses hooves grooved to solve contracted heels or anything...

Wasn't very informative IMHO. Agree, listen to your farrier - unless you have a crap farrier

I do listen no problem just thought it might be helpful for some different options to discuss with him.The full article was written by a farrier.

i wasnt implying you didn't Cellie.

I was just informting people that information in HORSE magazine in the past has not been great and has caused rifts between professional and clients.

It is important that all these issues are discussed with your farrier as they will know best..

No offence taken.I dont think we all realise what options are available.Natural balance have really helped my horse but I only changed after talking to my vet and farrier.
If I ever buy another horse you can guarantee it will be his hoof that gets looked at before anything else .Good lessons are always learnt the hard way.

My farrier advised putting them on my old boy for the last couple of years of his life as he was stiff in one knee and they really gave him a new lease of life
