Herbie did it again. A nap free hack :D :D :D Well nearly anyway. I got on him in the road and there was some men in the grain store who couldn't have made anymore noise if they tried. He was as good as gold, let me get on and walked streight on up the road. He walked passed the car park he always naps at. :D He only looked at it longingly as we went by. We carried on up the road till we got to the gate where we come out the field to come home and he stopped. :( I sat there for about 30 sec asking nicely for him to walk on when he didn't i gave him two PC THUMPS (so glad noone was watching as i flapped my arms aswell :p) but it worked and he walked on :D The rest of the ride was uneventfull and we even had two trots :D
Sorry for the pointless post but i realy needed this as the rest of my life is unravelling at the mo so to have the horrid one behaving gives me something to smile about :D :D Thanks for reading.
 
Thankyou Cavblacks. I think the penny has finaly dropped for him and he realises it's not worth being naughty.

Gluttonforpunishment I hope you get there with your mare. It's been a tough 7 mounth battle with Herbie but it is so worth it to have him hacking happily for once :D
 
Thanks somethingorother the :p are for all those who said it couldn't be done or i was doing it wrong. ;) :D :D He's come along way all of a sudden. I realy hope it continues but we've never had two good hacks in a row before so thats a big step forward. :D :D
 
Brilliant!! Hes coming along so well you should be so proud of him, like you said it sounds like he has realised being naughty wont get him anywhere anymore
 
Yes know what you mean! When you've had success with a nappy 'un and done something which was impossible hitherto, you wanna tell the world!! I know, it happened with my boy the very first time I got him out for a hack on his own and he was OK. I remember walking into the village shop afterwards and grinning like an ape at everyone!!

Well done!! You can build on your success - the sky's the limit.

KellysHeroes perseverance deff pays off. Those who have been following Herbie from the start know he was the king of napping. He would even nap when in company. He would refuse to move even if the other horse walked off out of sight :eek:. Oh he was such a little ****. But i kept on going out making him go and just look at him now :D I think he is even starting to enjoy it :) Not that i think he would ever admit it mind :p ;) :D :D
