did the ND now doing a BSC!! also teaching at a riding school part time and have my bhs stage 3 and PTT booked!! at the end of my course (got another 2 yrs!) want to go into lecturing at a college or uni!! Well thast the plan at the moment!!

I am very similar to you piebaldsparkle, I started an NVQ in stud management on a YTS scheme, way back in '96.

I didn't actually get round to finishing my course though as I was offered a stud managers job.

After spending 3 years working at studs/showing yards I fulfilled an ambition to work in America as a Polo groom then decided in order to ever have enough money to buy my own house and fund my own horse I would need a change of career.

I am now working on an IT helpdesk, have my own house, 3 horses and lots of happy memories!

I don't regret for a second any of the horse work I did, I learnt loads and gained valuble life experience too!

I did an HND in Equine Science, realised i was far too allergic to horses to ever work on a yard where different horses were coming and going. Also realised I could never groom for someone else for a pittance and wanted to have a job where I could afford to own my own horses as a nice hobby!

hmm, didn't quite go to plan though - after a few different jobs I still work related to horses (insuring them) but it's not exactly what I would call a dream career and the money's shocking! Therefore i am looking out for a decent job I enjoy that pays well OR a nice rich man who's happy to let me be a kept woman and have as many horses and dogs as I like (a girl's gotta dream eh! hehe)

I did the National Diploma in Horse Management and am now a receptionist.

I decided that if I worked with horses I would never have time for one of my own eventually and wanted to keep it as a hobby.

I did the ND in Equine Studies and then worked on hunting yards, P2P yards and also a stunt yard for a few years, before deciding the pay was rubbish, the hours were horrendous and I wanted my own horse

I now work as project manager for a web and software development company

I don't regret the time I spent working with horses as I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am actually working for an eventer at weekends to earn a bit of extra cash so my BTEC hasn't gone to waste
