Record price paid at the Holstein Korug for this dark bay even before the auctions started. Any guesses on how much ? (got near perfect scores on all phases including free jumping)

Like him but definitely way out of my price range

Granted, not as exotic as QRMarc...

A clue:He's by Diamant de Semilly and Corrado I and was bought by the following partnership: The Verband of Holstein, the Dutch company Eurocommerce and Paul Shockemole.
Too expensive for just one buyer

"looks a little like a sea horse"

Yes,looks unreal...Not my type either. I know he went for a spectacular price (very expensive for a sea horse !) and imported by a Belgian breeder.

Diarado, the Holst. was just sold yesterday for a little over 1M Euros...

Could never work that out, a horse sells for more than 4 x's the price of a horse who can 'do something' for just looking 'pretty'.

Personally think they are both stunners!

Wow, he is stunning. Hope he is worth that money.

QrMarc is an Egyptian Arab isn't he? Thats why he looks more 'dented' than an arabian arab?

The Holst is quite beautiful and nice price! I bet the Levallois family (the owners of Diamant) are rather happy. Another gold star for their best stallion!!
I have a dark bay foal by diamant, lets hope he is going to be as good as the holst....

Well, Lu you're back !
Will be worth keeping an eye on the black diamond and see if he lives up to his sale price. I'm interested to see who the pilot will be.
When a horse goes for that kind of money, it's always interesting to see what comes out in the end...

I'd be worried at how upright his pasterns are and how straight his hocks are..........that said, the overall picture is stunning...........are they shown off to perform? Or is it just on inhand stuff?

The licensing consists of a vetting, trot up on a hard surface, loose jumping, in hand assessment on a triangle and then assessment of paces loose. It runs from Thursday to Sunday and is the first stage in getting a young stallion approved.

Thanks, Volatis.

As said before, it will be interesting to see how he goes on, and if he stays sound enough. On an even more critical note, he's a bit pinched behind the knee too.........but......he is enormously gorgeous overall, with a lot of presence, and conformation is not always the be all and end all, and I suppose it also depends on the job ahead.
I expect for a few grand I'd take a chance on him!!
