I actually spoke my mind this morning and now am feeling great for it!!
I am normally a quiet sort who does as they are told at work without too many questions along the way. I like to get on and just do the job in hand. If 'A' told me to do 'Z' they I'd go out of my way to make sure 'Z' got done.
Earlier on this week, 'Y' needed doing, I was all set to do the task when other person told me it could wait. Looking back, I DID make the error then of waiting. Then, a short time later I had a spare hour or so, so was about to do 'Y' task, when other person ran off with the tack room key, meaning it impossible to do 'y'. Other person then proceeded to P me right off, and made no contact for nearly 2 hours. Suddenly it was a mad rush to do 'Y', which was done so badly the boss rightfully complained.
For once I told the truth, rather than accepting it was entirely my fault. I wanted to do 'Y', but was refused at first, then for a reason that had nothing to do with me had a very irritating wait while the key was not on my person. I had even asked to have the key, but that was also refused.
I feel very good that I had cleared it up with the boss, I just wish I could do this sort of thing more often when the situations require it!!
The only thing that bugs me, is that why do I get the impression 'other person' doesn't trust me, when boss does? I don't think we get on, but that's no excuse not to get the jobs done.
Was that a moan or a self indulgent post?? Perhaps both, but there you go. I'll go do my happy jiggy dance anyway!!
