Just back from my horse's 10 month scan to his LH DDFT. Although the lesion is still present, it has healed considerably since the last scan in October, and considering he's been turned out for all of that time, they're cautiously optimistic that he can gradually be brought back into full work.

The hosp did say this is uncharted territory for them - they've never had a horse remain sound for this long with a lesion present! I don't know whether to be pleased or alarmed...

So, chin up, fellow Club members - there is light at the end of the tunnel that might not necessarily be an oncoming train. Good luck, everyone.

Really pleased it's good news for you. It's strange that he's sound while the lesion is still there, but I suppose you have to listen to your horse - if he's telling you he's sound, then just go with it! All the best bringing him back into work, I've just started in hand work with mine (also recovering from a tendon injury) so i'll be keen to see how you get on. Keep us posted!

Nice to hear this. My horse is going for 3 month scan in a couple of weeks. Am planning to turn him out 24/7 soon and see if a year of Doctor Green will help.

My horse split his DDFT and has made an amazing recovery, so it is possible to have a happy ending.

Good luck to all those in the DDFT club.
