Where would you look if you were interested in attending clinics with leading riders? Whether XC, SJ or dressage?

Whereabouts in the Midlands are you?

Best places tend to be large local competition or riding centres, their websites or give them a call (e.g. a local XC place to me has regular top rider clinics). Over towards the west a bit I use a website called Herefordshire Equestrian, they have in their "whats on" a date order of everything going on in local counties which has clinics etc too.

There are a fair few - ish!
Hilltop in Ledbury do XC clinics with Lucinda Green and William miflin and others, it's a good course especially for youngsters and those to bring on as most jumps have a choice of 3 heights (and even my stroppy mare jumps into the water there!!)

For others have a look at http://www.herefordequestrian.co.uk/whats-on/index.aspx they cover worcestershire as well as Herefordshire, gloucestershire, etc. I'm only over near Tewkesbury so not too far away, tend to use this site when I'm having a what shall I do tomorrow moment too!!

There isn't a large equestrian centre near Worcester, so you will have to look on various websites. There is Gracelands near Droitwich which does a lot of show jumping and Allens Hill near Pershore that has visiting instructors for dressage and show jumping. Hillocks and the place near Ledbury are the best cross country venues.

There are active Riding Clubs in the area - Worcester and District, Wyvern, Bromsgrove, Alvechurch, Malvern. There are some dressage yards that do lessons - Daneswood Dressage springs to mind. Lincomb Cross Country might have some visiting instructors too. The local BHS committee sometimes organises show jumping and cross country clinics too.

In Herefordshire again and ditto, Hereford Equestrian is where I look for anything horsey happening, covers Herefordshire Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Shropshire = I think!

i use this too its really good and has loads of info on:)

For dressage:

Jane Bartle Wilson does clinics at Taylored Equestrian in Shrops (TE is on here so PM her for more details).

Spencer Wilton does clinics at various venues round here, e-mail the local rep for details (local reps on his website).

Isobel Wessels does clinics at King's EC Bromyard (formerly Bromyard EC).

Thanks everyone, that's really helpful- I thought that there might be an opportunity to develop a clinics programme with some top riders- maybe some lectures and demos too- but perhaps there's no need? I think I may have been looking in the wrong places!

What do you think?

I mainly follow dressage and in that area I think there are many people offering lessons but very few demos/lectures. I used to live up north and it seemed a lot more active there.

Oh, I forgot to say Claire Ballantry at Heart of England does quite a lot as well and she does quite a few demos/lectures.
